Veteran’s Day, a day late

I’m related to several veterans of the US Army.  My Grandfather Claiborne fought in World War II with the Army Corps of Engineers.  My Grandfather Smith fought in World War II and the Korean War.  His older brother was was a POW in Europe.  His younger brother was shot down in Vietnam.  His sister was an Army nurse.  My younger brother served in the Army in Iraq.

My Aunt Robin wrote this tribute to my Grandfather and I’d like to share it.  Last week, when I attended the AEA conference in Denver, I was able to visit my Grandpa Smith in Colorado Springs.  He’s old and tired now, and he misses my Grandmother terribly, but he’s always made it clear how much he loves me and I know that he knows how much I love him.
